FIRST BAPTIST STUART
On Sunday, May 15, 1925, the first church service was held in the Sanctuary building at 201 SW Ocean Boulevard in Stuart. For over 99 years, First Baptist Church of Stuart has stood as a guiding light in Downtown Stuart, attracting visitors from throughout the Treasure Coast and beyond.
Since 1974, our First Baptist Christian School and Preschool has proudly educated thousands of students while serving their families. Following in the footsteps of seven dedicated pastors, Dr. Darrell Orman has been at the helm of our community since August 1992. His ministry has been marked by extensive churchwide mission trips both locally and internationally, notable record-breaking baptisms, and the establishment of twelve churches in Brazil, along with one church in Haiti.
Throughout its rich history, the church has been recognized for its warmth, compassion for people, and the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus Christ both locally and worldwide.
In 2025, the First Baptist Church of Stuart will celebrate its centennial with a grand homecoming event. Currently, we are in the process of constructing a new church and school, expected to be completed within the next 3-5 years on "Reborn Farm," a 40-acre property on Kanner Highway that we acquired in May 2022.
We warmly invite you to join us in prayer as we embark on this exciting new vision for First Baptist Stuart.
We believe the Godhead exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God.
We believe God is the absolute and sole creator of the universe, and that creation was a divine act, rather than the result of an evolutionary process.
We believe that, in His divine wisdom and love for humanity, God sent Christ into the world to redeem sinners.
We believe every Christian’s goal is to grow in
spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that in His death, through the blood He willingly shed, the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin, freeing us from the curse of the law by bearing that curse Himself. The salvation and justification of humanity are grounded entirely on the sheer foundation of the blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe such salvation with its forgiveness of sins, its impartation of a new nature, and its hope of eternal life, is entirely apart from good works, baptism, church membership, or man's effort, and is of pure grace.
We believe a true believer is eternally secure and cannot lose his salvation, but sin may interrupt the joy of his fellowship with God and bring the loving discipline of his Heavenly Father.
We believe all who receive Jesus Christ become joint heirs with Christ; at death, their spirits depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness; and at the rapture, their bodies will be raised to the likeness of the body of His glory and dwell forever in His divine presence.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired and inerrant in its original manuscripts. We also believe that it has been preserved by God through its verbal, plenary inspiration, making it a divinely authoritative standard for every life and every age.
We believe the Holy Spirit is a person, is God, and possesses all the divine attributes. He indwells all believers, baptizes and seals them at the moment of their salvation, and fills them in response to confession of sin and yielded life.
We profess that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin and led a life free from sin. Throughout His ministry, He taught profound truths and performed miraculous works, wonders, and signs as documented in the four Gospels. He was crucified and died to atone for our sins, and on the third day, He rose bodily from the dead. Subsequently, He ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He serves as the head of the church and intercedes on behalf of believers. From there, He will return personally, bodily, and visibly to establish His millennial kingdom on earth.
We are a community of believers dedicated to spreading the message of Jesus Christ and leading others to faith in Him. As a church, our mission is to love our neighbors with the same profound love that Christ has shown us.
Our efforts are centered on guiding individuals toward the Savior, with the hope that they will experience the transformative power of the One True God's gracious love.
In all we do, say, and preach, we pray that we will radiate the light of Christ to everyone we meet.
"We love because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19
